Yes, that's the answer that I am seeking. The reviews that I have been able to see and what gtirard seemed to imply, or at least how I interpreted his statement, about the the Modern setting with the controls at noon, had me feeling that there was a distinct difference if the setting were changed. He just clarified though so I'm good!

While we're on the topic, I haven't noticed any difference in the headroom using the "warm" setting on the 803 either, though I know there are technical limitations in place. Honestly, I haven't noticed them in practice.
That's nice to hear! I guess that I just need to buy a V803 to do a comparison between it and the BB800. I've been hesitant to try it up until now....
Now that I've used mine a touch more, the "warm" setting is where it's for me, at least for my all-originals, two guitar rock band.
Same. I find the "warm" setting to be the most versatile. It always sounds great, very musical in all circumstance.
The "Qtube" is nice, but it depends too much on the gain level (or the output level of the bass), so it's a little bit unpredictable for my taste.
I'd be curious to know what others think?
I could set up the warm voice and leave it alone. Warm will get it done. But I keep messing with qtube. It's got something to offer at lower and higher gain. A little loose and woolly. My current band isn't using IEMs but I'd like to hear how the v803 works in that context.
I'm also in the WARM camp. And usually coupled with the SCOOP input. I keep experimenting with different combinations, gain levels and EQ settings, but I know I have at least one very reliably pleasing combo in the following:
WARM
SCOOP
GAIN @ 5
EQ to taste as needed.
I usually run a Source Audio Zio Bass in front and when I do that:
TREBLE @ NOON // MIDS @ NOON // BASS @ NOON
Current EQ without Zio (practicing at home, likely will change at rehearsal):
TREBLE @ 1:30 // MIDS slight cut @ ~650k // BASS @ 12:00

GAIN @ 5

So far I'm also happiest with the warm voice on my V803. But then, I'm mostly using it with a Barefaced Big Baby 3, which is a pretty neutral cab. If I were using a more colored cab, I might feel differently.
I have a BF One10 and a RevSound 210 — so the opposite end of the spectrum and fairly colored, but still great results with the warm setting.
I also use the scoop input most of the time.
It's a surprise: when the 803 was announced, I thought the scoop input would sound great only at bedroom level, because in general it's a bad idea to remove too much mids when playing loud, but I've noticed it sounds good at any level.
Remarkably similar. I never expected to use the "scoop" input at all, not being a scooped kind of player, but I find it with a bit of bass rolled off and a mid-boost around 1:00 to have a very sweet tone through a very accurate (Audiokinesis TC) cab. There's something really nice to the high end in the scoop vs the flat input - all in the warm setting.
I thought the same thing. I mentioned it previously in this thread — it seems/sounds to me like it's more of a Pultec-type curve with a targeted low mid-scoop and bass bump rather than just a broad mid-scoop. IDK what is really going on, other than it sounds good!
At home or working without drums, I plug straight into my v803. Add drums and the extra volume on guitars and vocals and I add the Tone Hammer pedal. I like what it brings to a loud mix.
Interesting - I must confess I haven't even TRIED scoop because I was certain I wouldn't like it. I mainly play through a BF SuperTwin (sometimes a Mesa Subway 2x15), but tonight I am playing a low volume situation with my BF One10 so I will give it a try!

I have a One10 and a Super Compact, both sound great with the regular and the scoop input on the 803.

My "big" cab is a SuperTwin and I love having the option of the scoop input. As you know, BF 12's are quite transparent. The big lows in Quilter's take on a scooped sound translates really nicely at gig volume.

After recently moving to Germany, and needing a new amp, made a visit to Thomann's and got these.
Gotta say i'm extremely happy with this little rig.
Still getting to know the 803.
And as much as i love all the voicings.
I'm tending to favor the modern setting.
But i've barely jumped into really getting to know the amp.

I tried the scooped input briefly the other night into my BF One10 but we were doing a low volume dreamless rehearsal and it wasn't for me. I will try it with my SuperTwin next time we play with the full band and see if I like it more.
First rehearsal out with the v803 mated with a Barefaced Super Compact. Used the Warm setting the whole time.
