Quilter Bass Block

I played through one of these yesterday.. fantastic head.. The bassist whose rig I was using was running this through a BBC 1012 Tank.. and the sound was just amazing.. So much so that I am thinking of getting a BBC cab.. but I need to start making more money with my playing before I can justify the expense.. I was using my Cirrus.. and I had the knob turned up maybe 15 degrees.. Room filling sound..

These cabinets look quite interesting!

I am impressed with how Quilter is offering 4 different cabinet options and fully disclosing the drivers used. The Eminence 3012LF is the same driver used in my Fearless F112s!

I am puzzled though as to the inclusion of a tweeter and not a mid-range driver in the 12 configurations as the 3012LF tops off around 2000 Hz and the BGH25-8 starts at 2500 Hz. I fear an un-avoidable mid-scoop.

Interestingly there is no tweeter attenuator control and the cabinets run solely at their full-range. This though is perfect for the BB800 and the second-half its magnificent Contour control knob. Sorry, but I am not a fan of the 1/4" connectors, but I respect their previous explanation for this choice.

Quilter continues to impress me as they do whatever they like, just because they can, and I bet these cabs sound as amazing as the BB800! :thumbsup:

Had a fun gig the other day. I was in the house band for a blues jam, filling in for my buddy, and I got to hear two of my basses through this rig, as well as 5 other guys. My rig is the quilter Bb800 through two Audiokenesis 112's. The power this combo put out was amazing. One guy with a really hot bass totally demolished the band, WAY to loud. The cabs or BB800 didn't even blink. Both my cabs are 4 Ohms, so this was running at 2 ohms all night with nary a hickup. Several guys had P basses which for some reason just sound amazing through this head. It's like Pat designed the eq points with a P bass in mind, which is reasonable since they are so common. There was one Gretsch bass with dual mudbuckers that sounded great too, and a jazz bass that sounded nice. My Zon and my Precision V were also just killing. The low notes are amazing. A low C or D just has power forever and doesn't fade away or get muddy. Not sure if that is the Amp or the cabs. For my gig next week I'll take this rig again but will use my active Jazz. So far, every bass thrown at this rig sounds different, but great. I was surprised how warm and nice the Zon sounded, but my Precision sounded the best to me.

That is the same rig I use and it really cuts through the mix and is loved by my band mates!

Here's my update: I got my BB800 last September (& my made final no-interest promo payment the other day!)
With my Bergantino HS410 it is the best sounding rig I've ever played. I have too many to mention great rigs, and I'm really ready to sell them all for- pennies on the dollar if necessary -in order to lighten my load, and because I feel this amp/cab combo is all I'll ever need.

Bold statement, but true!!

Yes, and Yes! The HS410 lends itself very very well to the BB800, Previously, this cab was "assigned" to a TFB-750A and/or the MB LM800 Tube, (limited edition no less!). Both very nice amps, it goes without saying I think.
But- The Quilter puts out something extra, and at that size & that price...
I'm a fan.

Well I decided to get one from zzounds, shipped today. I will be using an Ampeg Heritage 410 and a Fender P. I think this combo is going to sound really good. I am also looking at getting some Rev cabs for a light load, maybe 2 of the RS110 cabs stacked. Can't wait to give it a whirl!

This thing is made for P basses. That rig should kill. I would also think it would pair amazingly well with the RS series cabs. I used to have the rs210 and rs 212 and rs 112 and I miss the 210's in particular.

Well I've found a pedal configuration that works superbly with my BB800 using the XLR in and the front panel.
The signal path is Lehle RMI dual compressor > Boss LS2 with A output feeding my Two Notes Le Bass (channel A clean) with the DI out (with cab sim engaged) going to the XLR in on the Quilter. The B output on the LS2 goes straight to the front panel and the output goes to the Zoom which I'm just using as a tuner.

The Quilter is just resting on the pedalboard and is connected to my FRFR TKS 1126 cab. I love the sound!
The core tone is from the XLR IN with the front panel adding a little more brightness.
