I’ve owned and loved the 800. I downsized to the Interbass and have been quite happy with it.

What’s a “qtube”? Does it sound like tubes? IS it a tube?

There’s no room in there for a conventional tube. I assume it’s an emulation, unless Quilter has come up with something like the Korg NuTube.

The look is actually growing on me. Like something made in the 1970s by a small shop that can't afford splashy graphics. In a good way; function over form.
One thing I like about my BB800 is the way it can stand in for my tube amp, or cover the clinical / modern thing without any fiddling around; it just works.
What would something more versatile but almost as intuitive look like? Maybe this. (Flat / modern for double bass, scoop / modern for smooth jazz, flat / warm or qtube for rock or blues later on...)
A pre-master, XLR DI would be most welcome. (And frankly, overdue; 98% of all other amps don't just have that for no reason...)

I found the original Facebook post. The comment is interesting:

Had a great time at the Quilter Labs booth at NAMM booth. I think I saw something new nestled in the bass cabs. Yup! I did!
It sounded amazing. Quite a variance in tone with the eq section. More than my 800. That said I get the tone I love from the 800. The Qtube setting gave me tha tone reminiscent of the SVT. I loved it. This rig sounded so good. Cabs have ceramic speakers.
I was told the V803 isn't quite ready for production. But hey, they will be! I'm
Excited!

True, it is nice to have a verity.

Still, it would be also nice to venture into some new innovative way out sounds of today. Less 3-tone sunburst, tort, and P bass, more lasers and Jetsons.

I guess I'm asking too much too soon.
The Jetsons were happening in 2062 so we've got time yet for the flying car to be commercially viable. I guess I need to wait on new bass sounds as well.

If it has aux in, I’m all over it.

The FX loops on my 802 and Interbass are wired in parallel (and prolly the 803 as well), so the return functions like an aux in.

I get what you’re saying, but to me, The Jetsons are about as Fender as you can get. That cartoon embodies the mid 60’s infatuation with outer space and being cutting edge (in that moment)… and now they both embody retro-futurism. The Fender bass WAS a flying car in a world full of upright basses.

I always wonder the same thing! I love SVT cranked, but it is ONE sound. There are so many other wonderful

I agree. That's why it's nice to have it as an option

I have a Genzler head… doesn’t sound like an SVT

Fender head too… you guessed it… doesn’t sound like an SVT.

Even *IF* the tube setting on this Quilter is voiced like an SVT, then there are still two other voicings available on this amp. The real question is why do we invent problems to complain about?
