UPS showed up today….this one wasn’t repacked, it was shipped this way! Speechless.

Thank the lord for the Mono M80 gig bag (which wasn’t in the listing, and a nice surprise), this is one lucky bass to have survived the cross country trek with nothing more than a gig bag between it and sheer destruction!

It's likely that the other half of the box was poorly taped to the the remnant, not surviving the journey.

I once received a beautiful MIJ Ibanez BTB 5 from a cross country seller. The proper sized bass box exterior looked great. When I picked the box up my heart sank. There was zero packaging material in the box.

Expecting the worst, I opened the box to be astonished that the bass arrived in mint condition, with no problems. SMH to this day over poor packaging

Looks as if the the "carton" lost its top-half during shipping...probably had an upper sleeve. I've fabricated cartons from sheet stock / scoring / bending but this example doesn't come close.

Funny story: ordered a bass from Singapore. The seller wrapped a single cardboard collar around the hardshell case (...much like a Starbucks cup sleeve) and affixed $186 worth of stamps. Showed up unscathed...and in 5 days.

My most recent *** was a bass sent in one of those "not quite hard" cases with a label slapped on it.

Not as bad as what OP received.... but mine was completely saturated in cat urine. Soaked through the fabric, ruining the entire case, and making the bass itself smell. It was a hot day when I received it and as I brought it into the AC inside, didn't smell it immediately.

Threw away the case a day later, and the piss bass is in pieces in my attic because it was also in poor shape. That was the final straw for sight unseen internet instrument purchases.

Congrats on the miracle of a minty bass with what it went through!

For all the complaining we do about UPS, they deserve kudos for getting this to you intact!
