Don't the Olympics usually leave the areas in which they are held in massive debt?

I believe I've read that and if it is the case, other countries can have them.

They are a big moneymaker now, a lit of corruption in swaying the deciders of who holds it as well.

I don't think the corruption is what it was after the Salt Lake City incident blew up in their faces. My brother in law lead the team that submitted the 2010 Whistler Olympic bid. Things were a whole lot cleaner by then.
