Double Bass R.I.P. Charnett Moffett

Man, I didn't know Charnett passed until i looked him up today. I'm shocked.
Attended a workshop he did at the California Jazz Conservancy (aka The Jazzschool) here in Berkeley a long while back. He was dripping with so much bass and musical talent.s. And really innovative with his playing, esp doing percussive things by flipping his bow over and tapping with the tip.
I saw him play with Ornette like 20 years ago at the SF Opera and Charnett was there - i forget who was the other big name bass players (yeah 2 bassists at the same time). Best show I ever saw. I sat up in the nosebleeds and could barely make anybody out yet the hair on my neck was on fire.
Rest In Power Charnett. We'll miss you.
