A true musician. A creative original and master of his instrument. ... and what a personality!
As far as getting "done in" by anything, seems like 80 years is a pretty good run - especially considering the many things that could have done him in.
Life expectancy when he was born was like 60 some years old. Today it's just about 80. I think Ginger did pretty good.

I was listening to Sirius this morning in the car. They gave a nice summary of his career, including a minute or so on the influence of Cream in their short time together. They then returned to playing music. I figured it would be Sunshine of Your Love, or something similar...

A piece of work? Absolutely, but there have been others.

I wasn’t aware of any of this until, in the wake of his final days, I started looking up what had become of his life since the “Beware...” film. If true, what kind of person would do this kind of stuff? I know there was no love lost between he and his son, Kofi. Somewhat similar to the story of Papa John Phillips ‘gifting’ Mackenzie to Mick Jagger.

I'm really sad. Ginger is one of the musicians who shaped the musician I am. I don't play drums but his drumming always fascinated me. He made his drums speak loudly and thank God for that.
He was a madman, he was a musician, he propelled the greatest power trio ever, he was a force of nature.

Unfortunately, had I been given the same opportunities, I would have demonstrated the same darknesses that Mr. Baker did. I'm familiar with his personality.

You're welcome! It's a pleasure to spread the gospel of Cream, specially when a show is so good like this one. Hearing it was a revelation to me as well. I think it was a soundboard recording but I ain't 100% sure of that, to be honest.
