R.I.P music

I was out and about this morning, so I decided to give Subway a try. The breakfast flatbread.
Once I got past the perfectly round and yellow eggs they use, it's actually not bad.
I'd get one again if I had to. It sure didn't leave me with that bloated lump in my stomach fast food joints do.

I'll be in Seattle all afternoon racking up the steps on my Fitbit.

-Mike

They aren't too bad. On whole I actually prefer the Egg White Delight from McDonalds, of all places. I don't get the hash brown, just a large coffee.

This morning was hot green tea and nothin' else.

A glorious sunny morning in my corner of the Puget Sound.
When I came into the kitchen, the wife had a muffin tin greased on the counter. Yummmmm....homemade muffins. Or so I thought.
I was tasked with dicing up onion, jalapenos, and spinach.
After dicing, I whipped up some eggs then added the diced veggies to the eggs and sprinkled in feta cheese. I follow directions well in the kitchen.
While I am doing this, my wife is 'lining' the muffin tin with pieces of ham.
We pour the egg mixture into each muffin tin, then pop it on the oven.
Out came these little pockets of deliciousness. Oh my word, they were sooooooooo good.
On a few of them, the ham crisped up really dark to give this perfect offset crunch and flavor to the egg mixture.
I think Jamie Oliver would have been proud of us.

Well, I'm not coming to Sacramento to do that for you, but I will send some coffee beans so you can. :)
What do you have for a grinder and pour over dripper?

-Mike

DAMMIT MAN! Coffee tease.

Umm to be honest I'm not sure what our grinder is. I DO know it's more than 15 years old and sounds like a wood chipper on nitrous oxide. I have the standard ancient plastic cone filter holder that fits over a cup. Nothing too sophisticated. I also have a French press.

Oh my, it's been a while.
I made chorizo breakfast tacos to go along with a Mexican coffee I roasted last week and served up via the Bialetti.
In a little bit here I'll make one as a pour over to see how that tastes too.

-Mike

I roasted up some Tanzanian beans earlier this week. I haven't been a big fan in the past, but my supplier convinced me these were worth a shot.
As a pour over, they aren't. A disappointing morning coffee on this day. However, the chorizo breakfast tacos made up for it.
Going out to breakfast is something I always love to do, but there is a certain satisfaction of pulling off a really good breakfast at home too.

Tim Horton's ( yes, THAT Tim Horton ) Cafe and Bake Shop whole bean coffee. French Press.

Didn't eat this morning. Knew I was having BBQ beef brisket sandwiches for lunch so kept the caloric intake down a bit ( like that helped.... dutch crust rolls with mouth watering BBQ beef murdered my diet... but what a lovely death it was! )

Tonight I'll have the same coffee while I read. It's my current favorite. I've been 100% Arabica for my coffee ingestion for a few months now.

I worked off that thought process for years....I'm having a big/good lunch, so I'll skip breakfast.
Not a good idea bro, but I think you already know that. You're ripping your body off skipping an important meal in the day.

As for Arabica, good call. The only thing I use Robusta for is testing my roaster.

Another week, another bad run with coffee. This time a Sulawesi, which has been historically reliable for me. Times they are a changin' I suppose.
Pile on top of the bad coffee a dry and old bagel with bland cream cheese. Not quite my day so far gastronomically speaking at least.
A wee bit of sun poking out here and there in the Puget Sound, just enough to fool me into thinking I didn't need sun screen and got myself burned Thursday.
I got a new cell phone this week that isn't grabbing like I would expect a $500 expense to.
I think I'll be glad when the 24 hour period constituting this day comes to an end.

Pulling a 12er today so just a cup-a and a butter croissant with nothing on it.

Lunch is a flatiron steak I grilled last night rare and sliced into strips. It's going on my spinach salad with a light vinaigrette, white onions, yellow bell peppers and radishes for a spicy crunch.
2 hard boiled eggs for my 1st break time snack and an activia yogurt for my last break :)

I clicked the link... Have I just had a lucky escape?
