R Through Excel Help?

I'm hoping to find some help here since TBOT seems to be the universe's library of information.

I have to do do some homework for my stat class and we're required to use R Through Excel. The problem is I'm on OSX and I can't quite figure out how to run it like an Add-In like it does in Windows. My MBP is dual-booted so I can hope over to windows and finish this if necessary but I'd like to be able to do all my work with OSX. Call it pride or stubbornness but I don't want to have to rely on another OS to do my work if at all possible. I'd appreciate any help.

You couldn't do the job in iWork Numbers and export to Excel when you're done?

I've opened numbers all of one time, so I honestly haven't the slightest idea. I use excel pretty much exclusively and I'm still barely proficient at it. Basically, the assignment is to evaluate the data in an in the given excel spreadsheet in a report with histograms, box-plots and scatterplots that R Through Excel is used to generate.

I swear I've searched the entire internet for answers and there doesn't seem to be be one in either direction so chances are it's a big, fat "NO!", lol. I'll just bite the bullet and use Windows I guess.
