Rack stand

Hi

Don't know if this is the right forum to ask in but I'll give it a try.
I use a SKB rack case with a Eden Navigator and som other stuff. I run this directly to our Mixer and out to the PA. I don't use a bass amplifier and cabinet, and I don't want to either. But my problem is that I dont want to have the case on the floor. At some gigs I use our amp rack but depending on stage size thats not always possible. I have been looking at cheap keyboard stand like this: Invalid Link Removed
but I don't really trust them with my equipment. I would like a stronger stand...

Have anyone seen something like this?

Even for $19, this stand is stupidly engineered. If raised when loaded in its intended use, the center of gravity extends beyond the base.

However, it works neatly for the purpose you describe, provided your rack isn't huge. (I haven't tried it with anything bigger than a 6-space rack.)

To make the stand useful, just set your rack on it so the controls on your gear face up and to the rear of the stand. That way, the weight is over the center of the stand, the controls are closer to your fingers than your knees, and adjusting the height upwards no longer throws the balance out of whack.

The only downsides are that it won't hold a huge rack and that it's a bit awkward to load even when folded. Still, it's not a bad solution if you like -- or need -- to keep your rack gear off the cabinets.

I did exactly the same thing for about two months when I first
joined the band I'm in now. i was putting a six space rack full of
stuff on this stand:

Then I went ampless, and now I've just got a small pedalboard
loaded with four pedals that sits on a percussion tray that is
attatched to a small speaker stand. Before I went with the speaker
stand, I was using a monitor stand similar to what was already
suggested, but mine didn't have any springs, just screw tightened
arms.

If all else fails, you could always just use one of these:

It folds flat when not in use, and locks in place when set up.

Good luck.
