Rack Tuner: Korg or Behringer

I have used the behringer rack tuner for going on 3 years now. 5 string tuned aeadg and it does just fine. Drop c,drop d,standard, tunes them all correctly and in a timely fashion. Hundreds of shows and not a single issue. Is the korg going to work faster, most likely. Better? Its subjective at best. There is no reason not to buy one unless you have the scratch for the korg, then I'd say get the korg. Those are just my experiences however. An honest opinion.

ive never had great experiences with behringer products (though im sure they make some good things), and the small korg tuner i have works great; the rack one should be better id think.

have you considered furman? mine has been going strong for at least 10 years, with zero problems. and, its got neato lights and a power conditioner with a half dozen ac slots. its not very expensive either; might cut down on rack spaces used, too.

I'll +1 the furman, mine's been extremely reliable for years. Unfortunately they don't make it anymore, buy if you can snag one used....

So who (besides Behringer) still makes a rack tuner? I've used a Fender for quite awhile, but it just started dying on me. Works sometimes, then no display at all. It was great while it lasted though.

I'm having a hard time finding a replacement.

Peterson still makes their StroboRack. It's a bit spendy, but it is current product. I've been quite happy with mine, which I got much for the same reason you are asking... Everyone else that made a quality rack tuner has discontinued it.

The Behringer does not track as quickly or truely as the others on low strings.

Just depends if you want 'cheap', or 'more functional' and what value you put on quicker functionality.

Kind of.....
I love mine (because it was sooooo inexpensive). On some basses, the low B needs to be tuned at the 5th fret as an E. Not the end of the world for a $60 rack tuner. It has a LOT of other features though as well.
