rackmount eq advice needed

i'm looking into getting a dual 15 band rackmount eq. i dont know a whole lot about rackmount eq except that they are better than pedal eq in general. i have a boss eq-20 and i like the presets but the highs sound really digital and i'd like more than 10 sliders to shape my sound and i've found that i really only need two presets so 9 on the eq-20 is a little much. a dual 15 band rackmount sounds like the logical solution but i dont really know where to start. also, is it possible to find one that is footswitchable to toggle between the two eq channels?
thanks

I don't know of any rackmount "stereo" EQ's that are footswitchable between the two channels.

As far as pedal vs. rack, it's quality that makes the difference, not the packaging. A high-quality pedal will sound better than a low-quality rack, and vice-versa. Rack does not automatically mean high quality.

yeah i guess i just kind of assumed rackmounts are better because ive seen alot of pros use them. and i'm probably gonna have to go with rackmount anyway cause the largest pedal eq i've seen is 10 band and i'd really prefer 15+. it'd be really nice if i could find one that i could switch between channels tho.

I know you didn't ask, but my opinion is that many-band graphic EQ's do more harm than good to your signal, due to phase distortion between bands. You are better off with like a 3-band parametric EQ--all the tone shaping you'll ever need, with fewer artifacts.

I disagree, i think rack eqs are very beneficial. They are much more precise than parametrics for adding or subtracting a specific frequency, or you can "expand the q" by moving more sliders around the frequency you are manipulating. I've owned several over the years- art, dod, rolls, and right now a cheapy stageworks. They all functioned just as well as the next.
