I was with a friend today when her ex pounced out of nowhere to talk to her. I've always been fascinated by how people react to different social settings, particularily surprises. She was acting really happy to see him, so well in fact, that I was shocked. But yes, it is never fun, and always awkward

My family flew down from Pittsburgh to watch the Superbowl down here at the bar where my ex waitresses. My WHOLE family decided to go. Needless to say I avoided the awkward social pleasantries and went to a party. She just sent me a text that says: "Saw your family today." I didn't even see her today and it's still awkward. We haven't talked since we broke up and she sends me this stupid text, that's just straight weird...

yeah... same thing happened to me.. except my new girlfriend was with me.. and the ex approached me and told me that some of my stuff was still in her apartment LOL

I remember when I was high school, all the kids used to find gf's from the same parties, so in each party there were fights over ex's. It was pretty usual to dump one person to go out with his/her friend.. It's a bit awkward, but I've seen it happen later in life with some of my friends who have tight circles. They'd be at a party hanging out with one person, then swap 'em for the next.. And everyone pretends it's completely natural.

Anyways, I'm in good terms with my ex's. I've actually briefly met some of their current BF's, too, without too hostile feelings - not that I've hung out with them or anything. I actually am having some coffee with my latest ex, in a couple of days. No, just coffee.

I ran into my ex after being gone from home for almost 3 years. I was with my wife and son. She came up to me and said "it must be amazing to fly fighter jets" I was like ***...im a mechanic on F-16's I don't fly them. Turns out an old friend of mine who didn't like her told her that to make her feel bad....I was stupified...I would never dream of lying about something like that.....thats a pretty serious claim. I do get to sit the cockpit though...only for ops checks.

Yeah. It wasn't pretty. Chick I was dating, wanted me to do her slightly overweight roommate. They were both very enthusiastic about the idea, as saw to it that I remained enthusiastic about it too. But all pictures that you have in your head need to be degraded by several shades of reality to to get to an accurate portrayal of what it looked like. Reality is never like the pron equivalent. I'm not a proud man. :scowl:
