Rana Ross Passes Away

zongeek, you're thinking of Rayna Foss (Foss-Rose after her marriage) who was the former bassist for Coal Chamber.
My thoughts go out to Rana's friends and family.

For all those who posted and for the phone calls, emails and visits concerning Rana I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Out of the tons of emails I recieved there was only one negative response - large lettered reply stating "Who gives a f**k!". Obviously not a fan...
I need to thank her for making me notice the sky, the stars, how pretty the moon is tonight, fine wines, Paris, Greece, England, Southern France, how to move easily, to dress well, to smell good, why free samples of anything are bitchin', true love, shared laughter, private moments, the value of pictures, nude beaches, ancient castles, modern museums, butterfly valley and the million precious memories that are locked forever within my mind. Thank you, my Rana, my Love. May your spirit rest peacefully on the low notes that you love so. Thanks, MookieHead, I'll see you on the other side.
I'll just be happy when I can stop hindsighting myself to death. IF I had done this or maybe IF I had done that then...
I hope she knows that I did everything I could think of to the best of my abilities. I really love her and I hope she knows that

You know what a 'Beauty Queen' she was, she didn't want anyone to see her when she considered herself looking bad, particularly after losing half of her front teeth during a seizure so she wouldn't let me call you down. Absolutely I (and Rana would) remember you and your incredible instruments. She was fascinated by them and we always tried to swing by whenever possible. The first time she picked one up I remember she said quite unabashadley "This is really weird!" with a big grin on her face (never one to mince words... ).
We stopped back by the following day and she sat down and played the bass some more. Her eyes closed half way and I watched the smile break out... yeah Sheldon, she dug it. We discussed it at length afterward. But if nothing else she was always true to the companies that she endorsed and she was Hohner thru-and-thru, to the end. They treated her so well, bless their hearts. Sweet people at a good company - and good basses for the buck.
Now me, well I'd love one of your basses as the bass 'just felt right' in my hands (I've just started playing again after quitting 17 or 18 years ago to throw myself behind Rana and support her career to the best of my ability. Never regretted that decision for a moment, I love her) but I've just declared bankruptcy, am undergoing serious mental health treatment and wonder where the next meal will come from (when I remember to eat)
so I'm afraid that's a purchase that may be several years down the road. 
Thanks again for posting here, I appreciate it. And yeah, the NAMM shows won't seem quite the same without the BassGirl rampaging bigger-than-life through it...
