Ya know I'm surprised that Brad hasn't thought of anything funny tp post in this thread yet. I wrote that "flurry of fury" line just for him to say something hilarious to cheer me up.

Come on Brad! Latimour Beat you to this thread. You gonna let him beat you to his second post in this thread? :D

i still say to seek counselling. a mother that sells your equipment over this, even though you may be "defiant" or have had a teacher call home, needs to be talked to. talk to your school counsellor, and get them involved. your school counsellor is required to be completely confidential, so you don't have to worry about other teachers treating you differently about this. if this has happened once, it can happen again, once you save up for another rig. get counselling, it'll just make life a lot easier in the long run. plus, your mom might see your side of the story and get you a new rig. ;)

That's what I'm hopin for.

If I get the teacher to ammend the calculator situation and my mom still doesn't repair the situation, I'm going to talk to my counselor. That's a good idea. Wait - what can they do though? Call my mom and tell her that she's a bad parent? :hmm:

I am looking out my office window down to the Sydney Opera house where the Queen (as in the Queen of England / Australia) will be turning up shortly. Looks to be a fair crowd of people there.

Its not funny, but its moderately more interesting than this thread.

okay, i pulled the reference: counselling childern and adolescents (third edition):

(paraphrased for length)
"discipline and punishment are not the same thing. discipline, on one hand, is about caring. it is to help childern learn appropriate behavior and self-dicipline. punishment, on the other hand, is delivered in anger, and is characterised by belittling, , scolding blaming, and harsh physical measures to thwart unwelcome behavior. (they did not mention monetary measures or deprivation of interests and outlets, but i think it's implied, as it is a non-exhaustive list)

"there is a thin line between punishment and consequences"

your school counsellor can request (not require) that your parents join you in counselling. also, the fact that you seeked psychological help will make your mom more aware of the scale of what she has done.

if you don't find this thread interesting, read a different one. this thread is here to help alex, though not all opinions given here are helpful. it is not here for you to complain about, there are plenty of other threads to read also.

Noooo! don't send him away! We need people to think that they HAVE to read this thread. Then they might take the $10 idea seriously! :p

Alex, seriously, we know you a little better around here than someone with a whole 10 posts preaching to the TB community. You got your point across, I know your having fun, but this has been rehashed over and over again. Do whatever your going to do and lets get back to talking bass instead of this soap opera.
You have 100 times the post this guy has, we know you a little bit. I'm sure you'll get another rig. Your a smart kid and money doesn't seem to be a real problem.
Good luck and don't you think you have beat up your mom in public enough?
Just work it out, I know you can do it.
