I might get a lot of stick for this, but I was reading a thread the other day about one of the TBers who was being sent to Japan by the military, and everyone kept going into the thread and saying 'thanks for the freedom'. That really got on my nerves, but I guess that is just because of my political views etc - I know how the US feel about their military, so I guess that is normal over there.

Yeah, you should get "stick" for that. Whatever your views, you'd be speaking them in German
if it weren't for the freedom the US military gave you. And yeah, now I'll get flamed.
Did this whole thing start in Canada?? The first time I ever heard it I was on the phone with a tech in northern Ontario and every other word out of his mouth was "Right?".
'off of' As in I'm going to get some money off of my friend. The word you need is 'from'.
"it was just so ..... Random". Person must live a mathmatically questionable existance.
"Awesome". How can so many things be "Awesome"? If everything is awesome, then why bring it up?
"Have a nice day". I know its generally meant well, but it IS overdone.

I hate that phrase. If I said it here, in my language (Swedish), it would very likely be perceived as "good for you, but I'm still stuck in the same old ****". And why is that s-word a profanity, but "crap" is not?

Excuse me, terrorism is a tactic, you can't wage war on a tactic.
Other words that annoy me (I do find myself using them occasionally) "epic", "random" and "grog".

Ending sentences with a question mark when it was a statement. I shudder when I hear university level students talking like this. They are the future of my country?
Worst of all, "Its all good" which is usually stated after someone complains about something. Clearly its not all good.
Oh and adults in their 30's using phrases and words like the 'kids' use. "Sweeet" being one example. It's just not right for a man in his mid 40s to use this.

I was originally going to answer the OP with "every phrase out of my ex's mouth", but didn't. Sounded too bitter.
This was the truest of all the many things she said as she was leaving me and the kids. I agree, honey, it's definitely you and not me.
