I bet you never seen anything like this MIJ "The Venturas" Jazz Bass, probably '94 or '96, black transparent painting, gold hardware. Belongs to my friend, I just added this as a curiosity

I actually turned down buying that bass but I forget the reason why.

I'll take it, but only if you jam on there a mandolin, 12-string guitar, fretless banjo, and Japanese Koto. Before Tennesee does.

I got one for ya'll. This is a complete custom shop Fender. I believe this was built for the bass player from Alien Ant Farm. I remember reading the information next to it and seeing in relation to that.

You'd think for the astronomical prices of Fender custom shop instruments they could line the strings up over the pickups. Boo Fender! I really can't believe they got away with selling that to somebody. You know that if Dave Pushic did such a bad job of matching the string spacing to the pickup, everyone would be lining up to point out how awful his work is, but Fender can charge $8k for it.

Actually string alignment between the poles isn't that critical to proper functioning of a pickup of this type.

This might be the same bass. Close to it. It has the same headstock.

Not the same bass. Look at the body. I read an article, cant recall where. But, the bass that Tye Zamora plays is a Fender Custom shop job they call "The Oar". They also did several others with the same woods electronics, but with traditional Jazz bodies and headstocks as pictured in the above post.
