I think this qualifies as "rare".

A 1978 Maple Fretless Antigua Finish P-Bass. Some call the color "pukeburst". Fair enough. This is the only fretless maple example I've come across & I love it!

Now that really is something that I've never seen before . What's more, I really like the look!

Congrats! That's the kind of bass that this thread was created for, I suspect .

Well...it's a shell pink Custom Shop remake of a 55 P bass. Only 3 other pink's known built.

Thanks. It has -68 tele neck and custom made body (made by Finnish luthier who passed away few months ago, RIP). I tried to imagine the best looking bass ever and after I got the neck from Ebay, I called to luthier to do fiesta red tele body with binding. Ok, the bass is sold after I noticed that my original -70 telebass is so much better.

Yeah, I've heard Antigua referred to "pukeburst" too, also "snotburst", "bileburst" and "vomitburst" but my favorite is "boogerburst" there's a certain alliteration to that one that's just pleasing to the ear...say it with me now...

Yeah baby! That Black Precision Elite II is exactly like mine except I have the gold hardware. A cool bass in my opinion. It may not sound the best, but I still like mine a lot.

That fretless Antiqua P bass - good stuff.

Not sure if this qualifies, but it is the ONLY one I have ever seen. I once saw one pop up on ebay, but thats after about 5 years of looking. This is my baby and really can do a great job with any sound I ever need. Her name is Amber and she is a late 90's Reggie Hamilton Custom Shop, a true beaut!

All of these basses look amazing and I bet their sound is just as impressive. Congrats to everyone on owning such fine instruments, I hope to be a proud owner of a vintage Fender one day.

I sold this one but here is an extremely rare 1969 Fender Mustang bass with both the competition stripe (first year for stripe) and the matching headstock (last year for matching headstock.) That means it can only be a 1969... plus I think red was a rarer color (correct me if I am wrong.)

That is closer, but it's a little less yellow in real life. Just a bit more faded.

My rare Fender:

MIJ Fender Precision Thinline TNB-110SPL discontinued in 2005 I believe. Two colors 3TS as shown and my Blue Black Vintage (BBV). I know of only 4 TB'rs w/ these.

my 1996 jazz 5 i think it is number 128. however as i get older i find my mind not functioning like it should. i am 100% sure it is numbered somewhere between 1 and 500. does that make me eligible to join the club? i am not sure with some of the incredible instruments i have seen in this thread. crap i cant find the picture! pics to follow when i locate them.

I've always thought Antigua looks like the color of hard boiled egg yolks after they've been sitting out for too long.
