Thanks for the link, but as far as I can see
the site does NOT offer either the show from
Toad's Place or the Jaco/Metheny-show from 1974
that I so graciously uploaded. Another thing is that
my uploads run in separate tracks, while the shows
found on jazzfusion.tv run continuously for some weird
reason.

However, my efforts to upload these files here
on this forum seem ignored and greatly underappreciated
so I'm considering to take them down. These uploads took more than 10 long hours and I see now that it
was probably a waste. Good day!

Your'e most welcome :)

It's nice to finally receive some gratitude
for my efforts. All these recordings prove
how effortlessly Jaco could walk and solo
over complicated chord-changes, also in
live settings. His solos from Toad's Place
( "Donna Lee", "Fannie Mae", and "Invitation"
in particular) are most likely to be the best
Jaco did during those tunes live.

When it comes to the Jaco/Metheny-shows
(all three of them), pay close attention
to Jaco's solos on both the renditions
of "All The Things You Are". But all the other
solos are amazing too off course. Too bad
that these shows( while excellent in audio-quality)
weren't professionally recorded and officially
released as companions to the more reserved "Bright Size Life". The sets are funky, jazzy, uplifting and
full of energy. Both Jaco and Pat were in their early twenties at the time, but already possessed a compositional wisdom and profiency on their
respective instruments that surpassed people
twice their age. I would give my left arm to get
to attend one of their legendary gigs at the
American east coast. Too bad I wasn't around at
the time.

If you're reading this Jeff Berlin, download
these recordings. And if you still think( after listening
to them) that Jaco couldn't improvise over chord changes, you're either delusional or just jealous
over having "competition" for the title as best
electric bass soloist.

Enjoy the recordings and tell me what you think
after listening to them.

If you are not able to open the songs
from that download, all you have to do
is convert them to "normal" files by using
this program, called flac frontend :):

using the program I'll have no problem
in helping you to do so. It's nice to see
that you're so appreciative of my efforts,
and it really makes it seem all the more
worthwhile. Feel free to make a comment
when you're finished downloading and
listening to the songs.

Ok. It looks like it has even more functions than the
media-player I've been using for the last few years( VLC
Media Player)!

Hi Jazzomaniac, and thanks for the Jaco stuff. I haven't had a chance to try the the flac files, the folder for Jaco and Brian Melvin is empty, (thought you might want to know). We do appreciate your efforts.

also-
jeff berlin is a great player... but i think his opinion about jaco not cutting changes was shaped by a jam they did, that occurred a short while before jaco's passing. jaco was in very rough shape all around.
had that exchange occurred in, say, '76, i think ol' jeff would be thinking a whole hearty heapin' lot differently.

Yes, both versions of "All The Things You Are"
from my Jaco/Metheny/Moses-uploads feature
stunning solos from Jaco.

I'm also happy to let you all know that
there are many more interesting uploads
coming from my collection. The next
will be Jaco's three encore-songs with
the Dixie Dregs from 1982. I will upload
them when I get the chance, so just stay put
everyone :)

I've been listening to hours upon hours of fresh Jaco material that I never knew existed.
I'm so happy that these recording were made, and the owners have shared them.

I had no idea there was so much of it around. I have downloaded over 40 hours of recordings, and have listened to about 1/2 already. I am a very happy Jaco fan right now.

To all the people who recorded these, I thank you.

I am really enjoying listening to the evolution of his themes. From the earlier recording to the later ones.
