Rare recordings of Jaco!

Here's a gig Jaco did in Bolzano with Bireli
Lagrene in 1986. This is the concert where
the version of "Donna Lee" that I posted
earlier was taken from. Sadly most
of the recordings of each song are
incomplete. I don't know why.
But anyway, here it is:

Thanks for the reminder. I'm downloading all of the files now and I'll report back on how well they work under Ubuntu 10.04.

Just saw this thread for the first time and am downloading the Trilogue now! Thanks! I've had this album for years (you can get the audio from Emusic now) and have never seen the video...but I've always thought that the album cover photograph looked suspiciously like a still from a video or film....

Well you're in for a treat! The video quality is quite good.

Just saw this thread for the first time and am downloading the Trilogue now! Thanks! I've had this album for years (you can get the audio from Emusic now) and have never seen the video...but I've always thought that the album cover photograph looked suspiciously like a still from a video or film....

Another thing about this DVD is that it features
ALL of the songs in UNEDITED form
plus two songs not found on the official
cd-release. I also posted the audio companion of the show in this thread, it also features all of the songs
unedited so you should get that too.
You should also download all the other Jaco-music
I uploaded in this thread, I can
guarantee that it'll be worth your while.

By the way, have you listened to ALL the
tunes from the Trilogue-DVD? Not
all the songs are avantgarde.

There are two more traditional
bebop/jazz tunes and
one reggae/funk-tune there as well.

as the sound quality is not up to
par with my previous uploads.

Of Mouth Sextet at Albion College in

Among the features are excellent versions of The Chicken, Broadway Blues, and Donna Lee
and on all these songs Jaco drives the crowd
bananas with his fluid solos. Also found here
is an excellent version of Chromatic Fantasy( the
short black and white clip from youtube.com is taken
from this performance) and Black Market. The footage
is decent, and the sound-quality good. It's in color.

downloaded my Jaco/Bireli DVD-upload.
You should definitely check it out,
it ranks up there with the best
live performances of his entire
career. Jaco's solos on this gig
are in my opinion better than those
from the Montreal-gig and the
Aurex-gig with his WOM band,
especially when it comes to
fluency.

Those files are rather large for anyone who lacks a fairly fast Internet connection and a download manager which can resume after dropped connections.

Hmm... Methinks that not many TB'ers and BC'ers are aware of this thread even though I posted a link to it on Basschat. I suppose that the occasional *bump* would be in order.

I see there has been a slight problem
with the naming of one of the files
found in my newest Jaco/Bireli-DVD
upload that may have caused some
inconveniences, but I want you
to know that it has now been
corrected.

you referring to the Trilogue-DVD?
If so, I've removed the text-files
to avoid confusion. If the text-files
are not the one you have downloaded
and you have trouble playing them
on your mac computer, don't hesitate
to ask me and I'll try to fix the
potential problem.

for my efforts, I've spent hundreds
of hours on the uploads if you
take all of them into account.
