That's awesome he's still at it!! I used to have a few of his as well. WAnted to do more with him because he really does make it affordable for most pedals. Great dude too, really a pleasure to work with.
I worked with Ryan to get the parts lists, diagrams, and schematics to build the Dunwich DIY ODB-3. He was great to work with throughout. He went above and beyond in fact. It sounded fantastic and the build was excellent.
I also had a RCO Pedals Isosceles Boost (heavily modded clone of the Grind/33/TC Preamp) that was also excellent.

It always amazes me how different I have to make my settings from pedal to pedal on different rigs - even rigs in the same family! Going from 700RB-II to 400RB-IV the Pepperbox needs considerably more cleans on the internal trimpots and definitely more bass on the knob. Treble and gain are pretty darn close. The Pepperbox is sounding amazing on the 700RB-II, and getting there on the 400RB-IV. The Tremond may end up working better on that rig, but I'm still giving it a go to get the Pepperbox to smooth out a bit on that one.
Looks like the Minotaur Sonic Terrors Fuzz and Burn clone is closer to completion...and Ryan is building his vero board skills up. So excited!

Sounds awesome, love the Acapulco, but I only use it on guitar. That mod would sell it on bass for sure.

I also need to talk with him again on some custom work I've got in mind. I've been holding off way too long.

Ryan just finished my RCO Hellfire & DAMnation pedal (Minotaur Sonic Terrors Fuzz and Burn clone - the F&B itself having a cloned Electra distortion feeding a cloned DAM Meathead fuzz). He has another one listed as an RCO Pedals F&B (The Barbarian) up on the 'verb.

Ditto here. I wish some of my older ones had it! I guess I'll just have to buy more pedals...
I finally settled on my "Rat" preferences and have the RCO Pepperbox (Volt Thrower clone) as my #1 Rat on my main rig. It's got an excellent clarity in highs and definition in the lows, while not being harsh in the highs on my 700RB-II. But it definitely depends on the rig! I spent a few hours trying to get that same tone on my 400RB-IV and couldn't replicate it. I could get close, but it never quite got the clarity in the highs (it always had that harshness) or the depth in the lows. For whatever reason, the Tremond could do it rather easily on the 400RB-IV, but it's not quite the same tone as my 700RB-II. Oh well, both are excellent, and having options for dirt is never a bad thing!
One thing I have wondered about pedal-wise every so often is making a custom Pharaoh Supreme. I always have the tone at minimum and highs at maximum (for a flat EQ response), but it still doesn't quite cut. I wonder if adding a dedicated mids control would help? And get it in the Son of Pharaoh size enclosure? Maybe something to ask Ryan in the future.
Please do ask Ryan for that…I think I’d be all over that…both the mids and the size!
I'd agree, I've never tried any of the Pharaoh's, but I'm always all for a mid control on a muff. To be honest, I've always wondered why there isn't a muff with a Baxandall/James EQ. I have seen a muff somewhere with an active 3 band EQ though. Maybe it was the OBNE haunting? Someone's done it, I don't doubt the Bax has been done too.
Well I got my DA-120 in today surprisingly, and it turned my pedalboard on its head. I gotta do some testing and get what I'm looking to do on paper, but I'm gonna start chatting with Ryan this week.
I'll post up the ideas here for sure, it's reducing complexity and pedals, but boy is it gonna be confusing at first.

It’s a Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe clone + MOSFET boost from the EQD Life Pedal O))). There is a toggle switch to change the signal path from boost -> fuzz or fuzz -> boost.
i know I could post this in the classifieds or reverb, but folks don’t appreciate his builds and will try to only offer half of the cost.
