Real or fake stingray?

Forum rules used to require a supporting membership in order to ask for values. Not sure if that is still in effect or not but I didn't want to find out the hard way.
It is, and In my experience somone told a moderator I was intentionally disobeying it, and I was issued Two warning points. 1 for disobeying a rule. 2 for intentionally doing it because I was told I could not.

I thought that was what you meant but I was blissfully unaware of this rule. Time to re-read them.

AHA!

""What's it worth"/price check posts are limited to Supporting Members. If you'd like more info on becoming a supporting member, please see this page."

Thanks!

Seriously? Were you selling or buying? You are allowed to get price quotes for items you are thinking of buying without supporting membership. You only need a membership if you intend of selling the item, since the "price check" reads like a FS ad.

There were a few threads about six months ago where Chef and another moderator discussed it, I cannot remember the name of the threads (one was somebody asking for a price quote.)
