Real Rickenbacker?

Btw, I see that OP has a fairly new account, maybe he's using it to see if we would catch his scam...:p
Maybe the OP is the scammer and using TB as a foil?
The only posts he's ever made are the two in this thread and he cleared out pretty quickly after those two.
No response from the OP since page 1.
Cue indignant response from the new-to-TalkBass OP in 3... 2...

My first thought was: have you got the bass yet?
The pics are of a real Ric, but then again I've seen Chinese listing with pics of real Rics.
I wonder if the seller wants an unsecured payment for it too?

Most Ric fakes/clones look noticably off. Maybe the fakes are legit clones printed with illegal logos, and legit clones aren't allowed to look much like the real deal before they get sued.
As for the price: maybe the previous owner drilled the holes and upgraded the bridge?

That was big money (;)) for me, back then. First real bass, so I was more than happy to get it... but, now that you mentioned a double neck, the regret not getting one is surfacing.

Wonder how much those were going for, around that time?
Big money for me as well. Good thing I saved my grass cutting money from the summer. I'm sure they were a lot of money back then, but living with my parents I would be able to afford it. If I could do it all over again.:)
