That was big money () for me, back then. First real bass, so I was more than happy to get it... but, now that you mentioned a double neck, the regret not getting one is surfacing.

Wonder how much those were going for, around that time?

Even if it's a fake. It's a good fake and comes with a hard case. For $500 you did ok if it's a fake, and much, much better if it's real. Looks real to me. Enjoy your RIC.

It's a picture of a real/good fake with a hard case. And if you send money, the picture is all you'll have to remember it by,

Most Ric fakes/clones look noticably off. Maybe the fakes are legit clones printed with illegal logos, and legit clones aren't allowed to look much like the real deal before they get sued.
As for the price: maybe the previous owner drilled the holes and upgraded the bridge?

Its decidedly a scam, im still not clear if the OP actually bought and received anything, if not, I suppose its just a lesson in the potential evils of sight-unseen online purchasers. As to the photos, those are 100% real Ric, which again, signifies nothing as to what is actually being sold.

Case in point, a photo of a genuine S model being used to advertise a Chickenbacker on Aliexpress, this one followed up by photos of the actual bass for sale, but I've seen ones where the ripped photos of the real deal are all that's offered. Buyer Beware, the advice that never gets old.

Big money for me as well. Good thing I saved my grass cutting money from the summer. I'm sure they were a lot of money back then, but living with my parents I would be able to afford it. If I could do it all over again.

The double necks were cool looking, but stupid heavy. The only time I saw Geddy play one, it was one tune and back to the 4 string. I never saw one for sale in a store, figured it was special order only. Paid $450 cash for my 78' 4001 with HSC, best $450 i ever spent.
