REALLY Cheap Ibanez ATK's!

So tempted to get the Koa one.

Do they still weigh 39 pounds? That was my only real issue with these basses.

EDIT: I went ahead and got the Koa 750KA. The price is just too silly to pass up.

I ordered a 750KA on Friday. Still it says "Being packed" since yesterday. Hopefully it will ship later today. It will be my 2nd bass along with my Ibanez EDA900.

The same deal at Guitarcenter.com & music123.com all owned by MusicanFriend, still (and I find it a little weird) is that MF is the only place that says that they have limited quantities!!!??

I had to wake up my wife to let her know about it. I couldn't sleep on Fri. before getting one :D If I had more money I'd get 2 :hyper:

The neck on the ATK's (mine, anyway) is totally different to the Soundgears I've played. Big, fat 'n' meaty and a nice big comfortable fistful to grab onto.

Or is that my girlfriend...

This is the last thing I needed to see.....

I'm planning on ordering an SX bass for $100 and I'm trying to figure out the best way to let my wife know without her freaking out.
Hmmmm....how much more pissed could she be over $300 then $100?

Its so awesome. I am looking for a mixture of the Nick oliveri, Mickey Shuman, Kim Deal, and Krist novoselic tones. All my favorite bassists.

i realize most of them (except novoselic) play p basses, do you think i could get a similar tone out of a ATK?

yeah, the p is probably my favorite bass, especially the 50s style ones. the honey blonde and maple neck is so SEXY. But the pickups on them kinda suck cause of the low output.

But anyways, im stoked about the ATK, i've been waiting for a bigass cluncky bass for years

They're heavy and atrocious-looking, AND Ibanez, but it's hard for me not to bite at that price. The natural isn't that bad looking. :hmm:

Hmm. OK, convince me -- what do these things have going for them? Why do I need this bass?
