Really GC? Really?

But I bet all the guitarists in the store were hammering away on the guitar amps right? Lol

That's the one thing I hate about Guitar Center there is always some jerk blasting his interpretation of Smoke On The Water on the biggest Marshall stack he can find.

Guitar Center kid: " Excuse me sir do you need any help?"
Jerk Clapton wannabe: "Nawww dude I'm cool hey you guys got any picks on sale?"

At my local GC, every single bass in the store is stuck up on the wall, out of reach. There are no cables available either. Plenty of guitars set out to play though. Not to stereotype, but I tend to think that if GC is worried about instrument abuse, it would make more sense to hang up all the guitars. It would seem like bassists are, for the most part, gentler with the equipment than the typical guitarist.

They tried to use their wall hangers against me, it didn't work. I'm at least 6 feet tall. Yea that's right, I reached for the farthest, most expensive bass on the wall and politely asked some guitarist that was unplugging already if I could use the instrument cable he was about to turn in, and BAM played away (to myself of course no need to make everything fall off the walls) in your face GC! :D

Yes sir very good :)

The big Sunset Blvd GC has a bubinga Warwick $$ NT that looked pretty nice until I plugged it in and the controls didn't seem to do anything. I popped the back cover off and found that someone had ripped out all of the electronics and just run wires between the pots. They wanted $1600 for it. I told them it wasn't worth more than $1000 because who ever bought it would have to replace the preamp and possibly the pick ups. Needless to say its still there a year later.
All of the GK amps in their bass section also distort or sound like frying eggs when you plug them in. Way to go guys.
