I would love to see a Yngwie Malmsteen signature bass. Wait, it seems Yamaha already has one :D

Ok soooooo, it has and hasn't been done before. Les Paul created a design that Gibson converted to a single cut bass. This is almost less than what Daryl did. He basically sketched out guitar and bass designs for Dean. He worked with them to create the Razorback design. It has nothing to do with the fact that he was a guitarist, except for the fact that he was famous. Honestly, I'm not really even a Pantera fan. It's just a ting I know he did.
 
I seem to remember a vendor at a guitar show had a few of them for sale.

I should have bought one, but they seemed so stupid at the time.

All the unassembled units probably ended up being blown out by GF
