Reasons to justify bass acquisitions

I own a lot of basses. My wife let me build a room for them. It's always overflowing into other rooms though.

Incredibly frustrated, she once asked me "How many basses is enough?!"

To which I replied, "Just one more."

"What if we have a kid? Our child will want to be a bass player. It will be in their DNA ... Better buy a shorty; my basses will be too large!"

My GF is pretty chill about my purchases. Her attitude is "as long as your bills are paid, it's your money. You work hard, and deserve to treat yourself". She has the same view of my gun purchases.

The a little while back my wife and I are shopping in a department store. My wife showed me a very blah, average looking, old lady style purse with price tag near 1k. Since then I don't think about justifying bass gear anymore.
