Rec for a mild cleaner

I'm needing a strong smelling guitar polish. Something that smells great.

Do you want (1) a mild cleaner, (2) a great smelling guitar polish, or (3) a strong smelling guitar polish?

A cleaner is not always a polish. A great polish may not smell strong. A strong smelling polish may not be good for your guitar's finish.

If your bass has a bad odor, I'm sure you can get helpful suggestions on how to deal with it.

For a good cleaner (as per your title), I recommend Virtuoso. They sell a cleaner and a polish, and they are different products. I find the cleaner (step 1) to be mild but effective, and it's advertised to be safe for all guitar finishes. The polish (step 2) isn't strong smelling, but it's pleasant smelling.

what's the problem and desired goal here? FWIW most polishes have little to no odor once you buff the instrument.

With all due respect - there's something you are not telling us. WHY matters. If the bass has an odor, you can't correct it or mask it with polish. You need to deal with the problem causing the odor.

That's because I already solved 90% of it. It wasn't all that bad to begin with. Still looking for a quality polish (preferably strong scented if such a thing exists). Hardly a big deal. Just thought I'd ask.

You could try an 'antique restoration' wax. They're usually pure beeswax & distilled turpentine - smells a bit like pine resin (that'll be the turps) & is quite strong to begin with; as the turpentine evaporates the smell diminishes rapidly. Common brand in the UK is 'Antiquax' - The US Distributor is in the wonderfully named Woonsocket RI, which may not be that far from you:

Just case anybody peeps this, I picked up some Dunlop 65 today. Has a nice strong citrus type scent. Zero problem smell left. More importantly the shine worked great. Amazing stuff.
