Recommend me a 1u power amp

In today's market it's a somewhat impractical request. Rack gear at the consumer level has fallen out of favor, for the most part. Most units you will find will be cheap and "disposable" or ridiculously expensive .... not to mention that the other two dimensions won't play nice with a portable rack.

With how many micro bass amps there are, you'd figure such a thing would be more common.

If it's going in a rack case, the case by itself is bulkier that a 1 Unit item so they really don't make much sense given the disadvantages as quoted below.
Such a small form factor makes much more sense for something stand alone.

Some of the 1RU "Pro" amps like Powersoft are huge in depth and weight. They also have very loud fans when they click on. That's a problem with the form factor and trying to cool it.

I have one of these in my Demeter preamp. 1u preamp/amp and it sounds killer.

One of the major issues with 1U power amps is the amount of torque applied to the rack ears.

All the (pro) units I am aware of require rear rack rail support. Many are also very deep… deep enough not to fit in the common size racks used for bass amps.

These are the reasons most power amps start at 2U, it’s a more practical format for most applications.

I carry my Powersoft around in a Gator rack bag. I’ve even shipped it a couple of times and flown with it. The chassis of the amp is still perfectly straight and solid. If I had a big road rack on wheels with a bunch of amps that lived in the back of a truck, the rear rack supports would be necessary. For me to take to gigs, the Gator bag is perfect. I don’t need the amount of power this amp has, but it’s sound quality is phenomenal

I use mine all the time. GK fusion amp. One rack space, 800 watts, tube preamp class D power amp.
Great sound, amazing amp. I love it.

The GT-series amps look really nice! Tube power amp, made in the US is a nice plus.

If you are very careful, sure. I see an awful lot of 1U packages (amps, plus Yamaha and Lexicon FX) with twisted up rack ears.

(It had a really quiet "piezo" fan - BUT it made blue flames come out of my altec voice coils...)

Perhaps a slight bit of "too much power for too little speaker"?

OP didn't say clearly why it needs to be 1U. If everything in rack is shallow (tuner, preamp etc.) then 2U shallow class D power amp would be better option to keep overall rack dimensions compact. 1U deep equipment forces to use deep rack too, and I would say that it makes rack more clumsy than shallow rack with one extra unit.

I don't like the trend of tiny and very exposed class D amps. Yes, it adds weight, but I'd rather 1u or 2u form factor I can put in one of my 3u rack bags like my lead sleds. They are 2u but with space for cooling for the Warwick. My PA had a good front to back fan, so it allows 1u for a feedback suppressor which REW allows me to program as a room EQ.

One that comes to mind is Samson cervo amps....but even then, I think when you get over 200-300w they become 2u.
They're associated with Harmon, akg, Hartke, dbx??? Last I knew...kind of budget friendly but whatever I've used of theirs I've been surprised with.
I have an older 1000w power amp that weighs about as much as an 8x10 cab, but it sounds amazing, gets earsplitting loud and stays clean.

I have tried and played a Lab Gruppen ipd1200 with my axe FX II.
Awesome price of gear.
However, I tries only once and the amp was sitting on my rack. Not racked inside.
The amp is "only" 600w per side. But it was very quickly pushing the Ampeg 810 to it's limit. No bridge mode.
If I had to own a 1u amp, it would probably be this one.
However, the price is quite high. And compared to a 2u amp with the same features, you will pay at least half the price for the 2u version.
