I’ve gone down a bit of a gospel rabbit hole lately having neglected the genre for the better part of my life. There’s just so much out there, like most things, it can be pretty overwhelming….so I’m asking for folks recommendations (groups, albums, eras, tracks etc.). This track blew me away! You Brought the Sunshine by the Clark Sisters.

Also, Jorma Kaukonen of Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane has done some excellent gospel songs...........of original origin.

Check out Cory Henry - he’s got wonderful chops.

My tastes are a bit "old", but based on your choice for an example of the Clark Sisters, if you haven't already, check out: The Staple Singers (1950's & pre STAX is more traditional), Mahalia Jackson (the later two to also be seen on the 2021 "Summer of Soul" film), Aretha Franklin (Amazing Grace LP & the finally released Film), The Caravans, Sister Rosetta Tharpe is always inspirational, later firmly in Gospel but often danced on the line between Gospel and R&B/RnR closer than many dared at the time.
