Recommendations for budget friendly lightweight bass

Hello!

So I need a bass that doesn't weight that much, no matter if new or used. My budget is around us $1000. I do have a Peavey t-45 and is too heavy for me

Any offers or recommendations?

I'm really into pj's (those Duff fenders seem legit), but i like to cover tool, so... Yeah, you guys surely know better.

Glarry basses weigh about 6.5 pounds and cost under $100.
They don't have any straight PJ copies, but they have a PJ pickup version as well as straight P and J copies.

You can often find them for even less on ebay under the brand name "Exquisite."

They'll need some setup work, but the necks are straight.
I'm not sure you can find a lighter bass...and you'll have $900 to spend on upgrades and your amp stack!

$1000 can get you a pretty decent mid level bass at least if you live in the US. You can stretch that money even more so, if looking at used basses.
Ibanez basses are pretty light and comes to mind.
A Fender Aerodyne is light, the fretboard has a pretty round radius as opposed to flat, I would recommend trying it to see if it will work for you.

the duff fenders are nice. And if you like tool then the duff has the drop d hipshot tuner which you need for tool covers. I have been waiting for the restock on the black one. I’m hearing July.

A grand will put you into something really nice...and lightweight...on the used market. What's your weight threshold?

I don't get really excited about the Fender sig models.

I live in Colombia. A friend's brother may be coming from new york soon, so that's an option. I know a guy who can bring it from Miami at a reasonable cost, so that's option 2; and the must unlike one is to find a seller who'd be willing to ship it directly to Colombia, but I don't expect anyone to go with that one.

Ah...the old "pony express"! That's certainly a more viable option. I'd aim for the "safest" hassle-free new purchase from a reputable dealer like Sweetwater. Your situation is special so, once you settle on a particular instrument, strike-up a dialogue with their internal customer service / sales staff. Returns and/or warranty services are not realistic so you need to get it right the first time...another reason I'd shy away from the Fender offerings. Yamaha and Ibanez would be my first choices.

Mom & Dad lived in Bogota. He worked for Croydon Shoes manufacturing Keds sneakers.

Ibanez SoundGear series, pick your color and price range. I find anything over their SR500 level off as far as aound and quality, ilI wouldn't even move to the premium or prestige line unless there's a coloelr you want, I find the SR500 competitive with those.

Even the SR250 is well made, good sounding bass at a good price. My only problem with anything unthe the SR500 is that unless they've changed) are the active only pickups. The hirer ones can switch between active and passive.

As far as sound, I think they are very versatile.

They are extremely easy on the back and shoulders, and the necks are thin and fast.

I have an SR 300 and an SR 2600. I want a 1700 and a 500 next...
