No way any one can offer a meaningful suggestion without knowing what the music is like. But it sounds like you're going to be recording your own band, so you must have some idea what works.
If that is an unknown, and I could only have one bass, then Pbass all the way.

i recorded in a grammy winning engineer's studio. Tracked a '79 p-bass, thunderbird and a guild b301. By far the engineer preferred the p-bass.
Fender basses record well, but I’ve recorded with lots of others too. A P-bass is a good choice. Having more than one tool in the kit is also good, if the OP can bring more than one. I usually bring multiple instruments and see what works best.

I will travel abroad to record out first album. I’m familiar with both basses mentioned above, I’ve recorded previously with the Precision, which is a classic for recording, but I’d like to read opinions about the NR Thunderbird too, to make a decision. Thanks in advance.
Do you know if the studio you’re traveling to has basses available there?

Over the last 45+ years I've recorded with a Fender PB exclusively. No Knock on the Gibby, but a PB just sits in the mix so well. And it's a lot more versatile than one would think.

I didn’t want to bring my Pbass because I don’t trust the company I’m flying with. I will have on site a NR Tbird , that I have played a lot with too. The band plays rock/ 70’s rock, so I know that live, both work well. I wanted to know if the NR Tbird was a prefered weapon of choice of some Talkbassists for recording reason I still don’t know. I guess I’ll have to trust my fender flight case!

If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure some have said they were able to stow an instrument in the suit locker of the passenger cabin, rather than let the throwers chuck it into the cargo section. Is that an option on this flight/airline?

I'm a believer in "safety through redundancy". If you don't bring the Precision and, for whatever reason, something is wrong with the Thunderbird, then you'll have to fall back on the Ibanez. If you bring the P safely and the TB is still fine, you have options.

See if you can rent a P on the other end so you're covered in case the T-Bird isn't working out in the mix--it's a very different beast. Any decent P will do, don't overthink it. A rental will probably have rounds and that's probably good since you're playing rock. And maybe you'll have some P songs, and some T-Bird songs--the music will dictate which sounds best.
You really don't want to be stuck with only one bass at a session. Unless it's a P;)

A Thunderbird is my weapon of choice live or recording. I’ve only played a bit on the new NRs but they rocked and I wouldn’t hesitate to record with one. Huge range of tones.

In that case, I'd take the neck off the body, that way the P will might fit in a regular suitcase.

The Thunderbird will most likely work for recording - but a P will always work 100%!
