REED JAMES - Hard time with him.

I don't want to start it all over again.
But it's the only place to share things like that and avoid others bass player stress.
I waited almost a year for the pup's to be done, the blades are not long enough, so my C and B string has 50% output compared with the other 4s.
First email with answer, but nothing happened until today.
3 more emails with no answer.
1 email with a idea to fix this without him loosing money replacing it, he needs just to do a special ring, and i move the pup's to a 5string bass, and he build another one and i pay it again. No care about.
Why?? Where's the respect with clients???
I'm tired of this NEO pup's stuff handmade.
Too hard to fix this. I don't understand

Ordered a set of Vintage vibe neos for my Sadowsky a few weeks ago. Called to get some info. Jim answered the phone (no VM) & we had a pleasant chat. We discussed the custom sizing & I emailed him the measurements. He emailed me right back with a confirmation. I must say that my dealings with him have been great so far!

Did he ever make it right with your pickups? I'll never understand why custom winders don't use blades long enough to cover all string spacings. Been through the same thing myself (with a different pickup maker).

He's great on the phone, but I'm having troubles with him now too on delivering my pickups. Email is almost non-existent anymore but he claims that's because of a "google bot" issue. Called him back up and got promised they'd ship tomorrow. Will have to call again next week to see what he says if I don't get shipping notification by the weekend.

I had to wait a bit longer for my pickups as well. It shouldn't be that way. Sorry to hear others in that position. I can tell you that after a couple of long rehearsals for a tour the last couple of days, I can't say enough about the NEO pickups in my bass. I haven't been too excited about much out there for pickups. These are perfect for my taste/needs. Well worth the (relatively short) wait. I hope things get resolved for you all.

6 months and waiting and still no pickups in sight. Mine were lost, remade, I don't know what now - bottom-line is I don't have anything to show for all of my frustration. I see a pattern in the excuses though and I am saddened that someone who apparently is talented has deconstructed themselves to this rudimentary child like behavior.Well, like I mentioned on another thread I am still hopeful; seeing as people have hit the 6~8 month mark and have still received their golden fleeces.

No he didn't.
I moved the pup's to a 5 strings and he did the rings. But i ordered it to a 6 strings and after all this hard time I installed Delanos on the 6 string bass and than i sold it.
So for me handmade pickups only if i pay after it's done.

You got your name on google every time we search for custom pickups.
Take advantage of that and do it right.
I really hope you can put it on wheels again. Good luck.

Things are going very well at this point still got some lose ends and some mix ups to fix, changing the web hosting so emails do not get lost ,the domain will be the same, after NAMM 2015 things will be a lot different. most likely never be to much of an active member of this TB. I do not care for it much .but rest sure my company will expand and grow a lot more then you ever think. I do note the people that like to talk me down they will be remembered as such. And they never have dwelt with me are know any thing about my product.

Just a quick bit of advice before you delete your TB account....most TB users tend to gravitate to buying products from active TB members/builders that they can interact with and get information via this forum. Nordstrand, Fuzzrocious, Darkglass, Bass Strings Online, Iron Ether, Wren & Cuff are all fine examples. Even SGD before that went south, he offered a wealth of information here. Of course the interaction needs to be for positive reasons instead of negative, so please try to be an active member once you have things running smoothly.

I'm certain TBers will remember sentences like those, too.
Mr. Reed, most of these posts aren't talking you down as a person. They are merely raising awareness of the dealings they have had with your company. I hope you see the difference there.

A wise man may take all this as free business development advice and use it to make a better, stronger, more prosperous business. I, for one, would be grateful for this honest input.

Best of luck to you and your company.

Really James?
Let me share my story: I ordered two Aria Neo pickups (non custom item) from him 4th of august. After some naggin' he told me he shipped them 8 october. A couple of weeks later I started sending him emails again, wondering were my pickups went.

29 october he answered something cryptic about shipping problems... After that: Total silence!

I've since then sending him an email once a week (with no response at all) I even left a message on his voice mail.
And today I asked him to give me ANY kind of response before friday. After that I'm contacting PayPal to get my money back.

I let you know what happens...

At first, it sounded like he was taking responsibility. Then he had to go and blow it with this line:

I do note the people that like to talk me down they will be remembered as such. And they never have dwelt with me are know any thing about my product.
Bad form to blame others for talking him down when they weren't the ones stonewalling. Schwab did that, too.

Tell you what guys: I send him a message via Facebook last week... and to my surprise; Instant reply! He promised to send me the pickups this week.
The time difference makes it hard for me to catch him on the phone, hence the emailing.
Anyway... 5 months of waiting today... I''l keep ya posted.
