Relationship Q

Walk away. Seriously. If you guys are doing this during the "honeymoon stage" it's not going to get any better. Find someone more compatible so that you can actually enjoy your time together. My .02

*edit....Oh, your answers to questions 1,2, and 3 will probably change as time goes on.

I second this. If you're fighting all the time, that's never going to stop. What are you going to do, marry her and continue fighting all the time, only without the option of breaking up clean? Have kids and fight over custody when you get divorced?

I know from experience. Contentious relationships never get better, no matter how much you try to iron things out. She's most likely just not compatible with you.

I agree completely.

Many stereotypes are so broad that it seems everyone fits. Take African-American (myself) for example. People think it is hilarious when I sit down on a hot day and slay a juicy watermelon.. Am I conforming to some stereotype? No... Watermelon is delicious. I don't care who you are. Same goes to for fried chicken. It is amazing.

Hell yeah! Love watermellon! And I eat way more fried chicken than any one person should and I'm French-Canadian! I've been mistaken for Portuguese a few times in the summer (I'm told it's from the Native America blood and the my high cheek bones).

Stereotypes are like any other social stigma, there's just enough truth to keep them going. Also, as pointed out previously, many people willfully or not prove stereotypes by their actions. As long as there are people who embrace stereotypes and try to use them to excuse stereotypical behavior, they aren't going away any time soon.

Back on topic: O/P, you have to decide for yourself what your saturation point is for the bad stuff. Running at the first sign of trouble isn't the answer, but neither is being a heavy bag for her to unload on.

Time you commit to trying to "make things work" is gone forever. I gave most of my 20's and two years into my 30's to my ex. Time better spent on anything else.

What you're proposing to do is noble, but the time goes by awfully fast. Before you know it, you'll be one of us warning the younger guys about avoiding your mistakes.

Tread carefully, and keep a close eye on that calendar.

There are many stereotypes that absolutely mystify me because they're absolutely untrue. Some might have some truth in them, sure, others were simply created as propaganda when any given minority was looked down upon.
Stating that all stereotypes have a shred of truth IRKS me to no end. That's absolutely not true.

Anywho... to the OP - dude, she may be smoking hot, you may love her, but there's a good possibility that you guys are just not compatible. Excessive arguing at this stage of the game is not a good sign... I'm no sage so I could be wrong of course. Just sayin.

How many arguments can you have with your g/f of who is 110% Italian??

You left out some very important details in your OP, which would be how often you and your girlfriend get into arguments?
Frequently? Like once a day? More?
Less? Once a week?
Are they serious arguments? Or trivial matters?
Is there shouting involved?

From the tone of your post (which I could totally have gotten wrong) it seems like you two argue frequently. Or at least she argues with your frequently. Having been in a situation like that before with my first wife, my obvious advice would be to get out, its no fun. Though its possible there may be a better solution here, I dont have enough info to suggest anything else.

Add some yellow potato salad, mashed potatoes or biscuits & milk gravy and I'm comin' for dinner!

Well, there are at least a couple stereotypes I can think of that, in general, are true (at least in my experiences).

Its difficult to get into this, without writing a dissertation.

Plus I dont really want to bore anybody with a cruise ship love story.

Kinda sucks if its totally over..I don't want it to be, but if it has to be over, then I can walk away.

Imma go get some watermelon........jolly ranchers.

Both parents have passed. Her uncle is a cardinal in the vatican. He's not too happy about her falling for an American. She teaches at the university in Rome...Egyptology.

Her father was a mechanical engineer but also played music. She was going to give me her fathers bass..1969 Jazz bass, mint. unplayed. I told her shes crazy..keep that for her. She knows the life of a musician and still accepted me so that was a total shock to my system. A good one, but still a shock.

To me..the arguing has mostly been my fault for not truly understanding a real relationship. I've been a road dog for the last ...almost 20 years of my life so my "relationships" were one nighters.

I take blame for much of the arguments. Happily and honestly. And i don't even remember what she would call me sometimes during an argument.

Well, that's really not too far off from what I was saying. I'm thinking specifically about negative stereotypes. I think that stereotypes have to have a genesis from somewhere, I dont think that they're just pulled out of thin air for no reason at all. However, what the genesis is/was and what it's based on can be quite different from what the popular stereotype claims.
Maybe it is/was a difference in wealth/poverty levels, culture, language or mannerism that spawns it, but far too often it's been historically used to demonize and vilify a particular population, usually a ethnic/racial/national minority. What is maybe a basic misunderstanding of culture, etc, can become something else quite derogatory used to subjugate or even dehumanize a population.
Look at your statement: "that in general, are true". The fact that the phrase "in general" is used kind of renders it moot in a way. If you're not talking about an entire population, only some, it becomes even more cloudy. Know what I mean? (or maybe I misunderstood you, apologies if so)
But Asian chicks in general are completely smoking hot, don't get me wrong. :)
