Remodeled Man Cave (with pics!)

Thanks everyone! Glad to get some feedback from the fairer sex!

Mesa bass gear is definitely my preferred choice. I will keep my eye out for another clock for you Joe!

I keep telling myself that I have amassed so many basses and guitars because I'm a lefty and good ones are hard to come by. It's really just GAS.

The white cabs are the Carvin MB210 combo and matching extension cab. Great little micro rig and super inexpensive.

I left a 22 inch space for the cases. It's my acoustic guitars that needed the most room. I bought some 4 foot wide carpeted mats at Home Depot for 10 bucks each that fit perfectly over the plywood to keep the cases from getting scuffed. The whole thing only cost me $80 to build and half of that was the floor mats.

Hi,

And it makes a great lamp stand! Very nice work! :D

Thank you for your indulgence,

As others have noted, a simple finishing of the 2x4s will go a long way. I'm going to make another suggestion... instead of the dinky little table lamp, you should run some linear LED lighting underneath the length of the shelf, over your amps and cabs.

In fact, since it's Christmas, I'm going to offer to send you some lighting FREE if you cover the cost of the shipping. Just let me know the length of the shelf, how far it is to the plug that you'll use and I'll set everything up, including a little dimmer you can install somewhere discreet.

Send me a PM and we can get things set up.

I hope you don't mind if I steal your case shelf idea. Awesome job!

Absolutely! PM anytime if you need more details. It was real simple. Making it exactly 4 feet in depth is perfect for bass cases and makes for a lot less cutting. I was able to just slide the first 4x8 sheet onto the shelf without cutting it at all.

Wow, very kind of you, thanks! I was thinking of doing exactly that. And I hear you about the finishing of the 2x4 fronts. I was simply going to paint them white to match the trip but may consider a moulding of some sort.
