Removing soap scum

For soap scum, I mix hydrogen peroxide with baking soda and then use a plastic scrubby (like a shower poof) to scrub. If you have years of build-up, you might need to go with a chemical solution to get rid of it the first time, but this is what I've been doing for years. It's good for removing hair color from grout, too.

Don't use soap. Use a detergent bar or liquid.

So, remember "you're not really clean until you're Zestfully clean" ?

That was based on Zest containing no soap, because the scummy feeling on your body is soap scum. Well, I looked at the package for Zest, and it contains... soap. :( Then I was at the supermarket yesterday, and looked at all of the bar "soap." It all contains soap (look for sodium cocoate and sodium tallowate). You can't buy detergent bars any more.

What gives? There's a conspiracy theory on the Internet, that Wal-Mart forced Zest to change their formulation in order to make it cheaper. On the other hand, there is probably a huge glut of tallow right now due to McDonald's switching to vegetable oil in their fryers. So who knows?

I bought a bottle of "body wash" instead.
