Replacement Tuners for MIM Jazz Bass

I recently put Schaller BMFLs on my MIM P. They are what fender used from 76 on. They fit fine, although the plate size is different, so new holes need drilling. Other than that, they are the best, IMHO. One thing that is awkward is that the vintage-style bushings supplied with Schallers (or the Vintage Reverse Gotohs that are fitted to the Reissues) do not fit the MIMs or Squiers. Or probably even MIAs. To get round this, I cut strips from a plastic shampoo bottle to fill out the peghead holes, the fitted the bush into that. Worked well on two basses so far.

hmmmm so is the standard fender tuner peg holes 11/16? i was hoping to get Gotoh Reverse tuners for my 2008 MIM standard Jazz bass... im looking for that vintage tuner look and i wanna make sure it will fit in my bass

gotoh res-o-lites are 28:1, look like vintage reverse tuners, fit the 11/16" holes/bushings, are lightweight, have no slop, and turn very smoothly. they even have adjustable resistance/ tension. the only problem is, is that they're quite pricey.

i have them on 6 of my basses and i love 'em.
