Replacing pickups

Changing PUP's is not hard to do. I'd do a little research of a bit more technical nature if I were you, just to get a better feel of what you are getting into.

Soldering is as easy as falling off a log, but there is a right way to do it. Again, find an online soldering resource, or buy one of those "For Dummies" books.
 
I'm considering buying some new pickups to give my bass some new life. I'm wondering how difficult it is to replace pickups, if there's soldering required, and if a total know-nothing like myself could do it. Thanks in advance.

Hey, we were all "total know-nothings" when we started. Pickup swapping is fairly simple for passive basses, a little trickier on actives. I suggest buying a book on the subject, like Guitar Electronics For Musicians by Donald Brosnac. It is a bit dated but is still a good reference for passive instruments.
