replacing squier affinity tuners?

hey guys, so i've been looking for a squier affinity jazz bass for a while, and i might have found one. i have a sinking feeling, though, that i'll have to change out the tuners. i saw a thread where someone plugged the old holes and drilled new ones in different locations. is this necessary to do? or can i just ream out the existing holes?

Depending on which tuners you'll be putting, you might need a slight widening of the holes. Filling old ones and redrilling new ones is totally unnecessary.

oh, okay, thanks! if i put in tuners from a fender standard, how large would i have to make the holes?
