Flea is not just any ol endorser and what someone says they does and does they does sometimes is not the same. This is only 2012 you know. :)

While still speculation, it would be MUCH more plausible to suppose that the reason he went back to GK is that they are reliably able to provide backline support wherever he plays, unlike USA Acoustic which is a small-time boutique operation with "issues".

BTW FWIW I'm not calling anyone a liar but please do not believe everything you read on the internet no matter who said it (including me). Especially if you are reading about commercial products that are sold to the public for money. Call me a skeptic if you want to. :)

My basic point is or was that Flea apparently used the Acoustic Gear to get the gear, then went back to his bread and butter. The term pay could mean many different things in today's society. For a college athlete a new pair of Nike's etc could go a long way towards swaying said athlete. There is one reason today's performers use any type of gear and that would be for some kind of gain. That is just the way it works, I did not create that dealeo.

Also I go to the Moon at least twice a week. I have a camp pitched up there with a cool Moon tent. The most difficult thing about it is starting the campfire but you can rest assured I go twice a week.

It isn't, and it's really not a big deal. I just don't see why some of these companies will swear up and down they don't pay these guys. It's massive advertising....somebody is getting paid, it'd be naive to think otherwise. The check may not go straight from the company to the artist, but between marketing dept.'s with budgets, ad agencies, talent agents, managers, etc., it gets there.

Good point about worldwide support as well.^^

I agree. There has to be something in it for him not matter what the something is.

My take on this whole "Acoustic - GK" thing is fairly straightforward (at least from a business angle). I know that he left on tour with several Acoustic 360/361 rigs. Played them on a number of shows then suddenly went BACK to GK - apparently while on tour, but I don't know this to be a fact.

If a fledging company like Acoustic USA is fortunate enough to grab a major endorsee (like Flea), they do what they have to do to make the guy happy. An endorsement like that is absolute gold in this day and age of marketing and competition. What does that mean?

Usually a new company would send a rep on tour with the band to insure that any problem with the equipment (yes, it happens) is taken care of IMMEDIATELY. Not saying that this DIDN'T happen in this case (I don't know) but I have a feeling that there was a problem or two and there was no one to communicate with to get the problem taken care of quickly.

This is just supposition on my part. I don't have any information of any kind one way or another but it seems to me as though someone may have dropped the proverbial ball on this one.

Bottom line - for any "start up" operation, this could potentially be the kiss of death. Mistakes like this (for whatever reason) are usually not recoverable. Granted, Acoustic USA is a "boutique" operation that only builds a few for a few - but still....word of mouth has killed many a business.

What is fairly apparent is that Flea is still featured on their web site. I assume that he's still under a contract that allows his image to be used. That leaves Larry Junstrom (.38 Special) as their only other major artist endorsee and to date, I haven't heard if he is still on board or not.

On their website, it shows him using a rack with some pres I couldn't identify and two 810e's.
