This email didn't made my day, but got to be honest here. Reverb is still a bargain when you want to try many pedals, and got to find the cash to get them. It's the only place i'm aware of where as an individual seller i'm in front of retailers. Even on used pedals market, it means i'll always be cheaper than shops, and i'll most always sell my pedals for a little bit higher than French Craiglist, or through French forums.
This little bit higher is more than 5% fees, plus 3,5% Paypal. I just sold a Depth Charge in 4 days for 280€, shipping excl. Not doing a pence on this one, not losing any money. Would i had sold this one as fast and at this rate through another site ? I guess not. I mean, nobody is pleased with increased fees, but in the end, and as for now, the value Reverb gets to individual sellers like me still worth the fees.
I do think this kind of business relies highly on how effective shipping services are working though. The fact is it's a complete mess atm, and if things don't go back to normal, even if 'normal' is a quite hypothetical word nowadays, it will lead to major decrease in sales. It may already decreasing, hence the increasing fees.
