reverend P pickups -- $18!

I dropped in a set of the 7.3 in one of my basses.

250k pots and .47(.42?) cap . I read somewhere that with a lower resistance pup ,
250k pots would be warmer than 500K

The output ( volume/gain ) is as good as my stock MIA
( highway one ) fender pups. Tone wise ? I have a hard time describing tone so bear with me.

I noticed the E string is strong but seems as if the lowest freqs are weaker , not in a bad way though.

The A & D string sound fantastic , really warm and buttery.

G string ?? I need adjustments , doesn't sound bad but a little lacking in volume. this may require a saddle adjustment, whch I would rather not do as I like it where it is, or an alteration to a generic P pup angle setting.

Overall I would say the the tone is NOT dark, not full of thundering bass , muddy or mid heavy but not overly bright and trebely.

I would say it is well balanced for what it is , clean , punchy, warm tone minus dark thunder.

Worth 12 bucks ? sure as I like to tinker so no money lost, would I do it again ? probably.

I bought two sets just to hang on to in case one of my kids get a beater . Or if I do.

I got a set of the P's for my squier franken-bass and loved them! It was the first set of pups I had ever bought and I second-guessed them so I bought a set of 57 RI from ebay ($25) and the Rev P sounds every bit as good. I still have them around and just got another squier (traded for a printer that was going to the thrift store and it's brand new!) that I think is going to be their new home.

Cheers,

CB
