It is a Pickguardian “Vintage Conversion”guard, back-painted gold on clear plexi: Rickenbacker 4003 Vintage Conversion Bass Guard | Pickguardian

I swapped the necks on my AVRI basses and made a parts bass with a 50s MIM body, Klein 50s pickup and an American pro neck. And yes I broke the E string.
