Rics with maple???

Has any body seen a ric with a maple fretboard and black or perl triangle inlays???

I always thought it would be cool, only rics I've seen Ric copies like that

Just this style (4004l), although it doesn't have the triangle inlays.

Bubinga. 4004Laredo's are the only current model bass with maple boards.

Heh... I think that it's actually light rosewood. I've seen a lot of Rics with light-colored rosewood- it actually seems more common than the dark rosewood.

What the hell is the one on the left? It may be the lighting, but the stock looks kinda blue and the body black! Almost looks like it's Rockinbetter copy instead of real Rickenbacker.

And what's with the wierd bridge, neck pup positioning and cover?

The one on the left looks like a Rockinbetter, the one on the right is a Ricky...

Rick 4001/3 use Bubinga on the fretboard, that's Bubinga, not rosewood...Buh -binga....

Currently Rickenbacker has no models being produced with a maple fretboard. But the redenck, the early 4004s, the 2020s, and the tuxeudo basses all had maple fretboards. Although in the redneck and the tuxeudo the fretnoard was painted so you couldn't see the maple.

Bubinga is a form of rosewood. In fact on Rickenbackers site, they list it as rosewood.

Their fretboards are most definatly bubinga, but bubinga is most definatly rosewood.
