Sonic B610T

How do you like the Sonic 610? I've alway enjoyed Sonic's cabinets that I've owned (a ported 2x10, a sealed 8x10 and currently have a little ported 1x12 and some PA cabinets) and think that they sound great and are a great value (especially used).

Perhaps 6 months ago, I almost went crazy and bought four 610s as I knew of one in the Chicago area, one in SE Wisconsin and two in Cedar Rapids (IA).

I really like it. It is definitely a good value. Aside from the strange ohm rating (5 or 5.3), it is an awesome cab. It isn't a big deal but if it were 4 ohms I could have an even 2 ohm load.

I wasn't expecting astounding results from a bargain cab, but I love what it has done for my rig. Paired with my Avatar B212, my rig was super loud and sounded better than ever. I haven't played very much with the 115, but what I have heard was nice. The Sonic 610 is definitely here to stay.

Was the Sonic 810 pretty compact? My 610 looks pretty small and the other cabs on the site also look pretty small. I'm glad to hear that you are pleased with your Sonic cabs. :)

It's a good thing that you didn't splurge on the 610s from Cedar Rapids, otherwise I wouldn't have one right now. ;) I too have considered grabbing the other that they had. I'm all set for cabs right now but if I ever had a chance to grab the other Sonic 610 they have in stock, I'd jump on it. Four 610s would be sick! I'd love to see and hear that.

On a side note, if you ever get a chance to deal with the Cedar Rapids MusicGoRound, do it. The service has been some of the best I've ever experienced. I received email responses very quickly (within 10 minutes, typically), the staff has been very friendly and helpful, and it was just an overall positive experience. I'll be looking in that store for used gear when I need it. :D

Thanks! So far, I like it a lot. Still haven't figured out why I sold my SVT-8 Pro, but the 6 is great too. The tube voltage knob is pretty cool, but the SVT-8 has a power tube emulation knob that adds more tube "sizzle". Check them both out on the Ampeg website. Both heads are great. Best of luck in your search.

Nice setup...How you likin the SVT6pro. I had seen one yesterday @ GC for $800 but didn't get a chance to plug it in

Do your audience members have diarrhea when you play an open E?
I've noticed a weird smell comming from the audience from time to time...

is that 4 alembics in the background?
3 Alembics (two Spoilers, one Elan) and an Aria Pro II SB Black 'n Gold I

Been working on the rig some, progress has been slowing down as I figure out the SUB woofer system as I've added a "B" string to the equasion.

Currently it is a 20U Jan-Al shockrack. I need more space.

Korg DTR-1000 tuner
Radial JD-7 Injector feeding the 5 amps
5 AMPEG SVT-4PRO
Furman AS-120 Power Distribution Sequencer

The rear shows the amp with the middle panels removed to see inside. I still need to run the speaker wiring for the top amp. I will need to order some additional plates for the Mid Atlantic System and replace the blank.

When we get the sixth amp it will go where the top stuff is and that stuff will go to the rear with the RF Receiver. The SUB WOOFER AMPS will have to go in another rack. I will probably replace this one with a double 24 Jan-AL when the time comes.
