RIP Alan White

I got to hang with Alan and other YES members after a show in 1999. He was very friendly, and even bought me a drink when he found out it was my birthday

He was very easy going, funny, and treated me like a longtime friend after having known me for thirty minutes. He still got a twinkle in his eye when talking about hanging out watching TV in bed with John, Yoko, and Eric Clapton , 30 years earlier, when he was 20, 21ish.

Thank you , Alan. RIP

A sad loss. As an aside, I don't think he played drums on Close to the Edge (as per the posted article). I've never heard that one before and I was pretty fanatical about that band back in the day.

The article is accurate: White joined the band for the Close to the Edge TOUR, and their first ALBUM he played on was Tales.

It's been edited. The original article specifically said that CTTE was the first album he played on, at least when I read it. I don't know if that particular article was later edited by someone at the website, but the article that's up there now is more accurate.
