RIP Chris Cornell - Soundgarden/Audioslave

I was playing in bands in Washington when the grunge scene was starting to take off. While I never met anyone from Soundgarden, they were a band we looked up to, as well as a few others. The drive to Seattle included hours of Soundgarden. Love listening to those guys. RIP Chris.

Rather shocking. There have been many many low points in my life where I'd rather not of been here but I felt I owed it to friends and family to stick around and couldn't do it to them. Him knowing how Kurts death effected people, knowing how it would hurt his family especially his children and his fans all over the world , it's just shocking. I feel suicide is selfish but then again asking someone to be alive when they don't want to is as well I guess. RIP Chris, grew up in the northwest and soundgarden was always a part of my life.

If you follow the link in the first post, they have updated the story and have determined it was suicide by hanging.

Damn. I was shocked when I heard about his death this morning. Even more so now that it's been ruled a suicide.

I just hope he's finally free of whatever pain brought him to do it. And sorry for his family for the inevitable fallout that will shortly follow.

I was angry when l found out how Prince died l thought what a waste and even today it's hard to listen to his music. I understand mental illness so l just pray Chris has found peace and one day his family does the same.

One of my favorite moments was seeing Eddie Vedder on Chris Cornell's shoulders and both singing! at a Mookie Blaylock show at the Moore, I think Matt Cameron was playing drums. They were just having so much fun.

Best wishes to all the bandmates - just really sad.
