Oh my ! I am so sorry to hear of his passing - I recently watched a interview with Joe. he had so many stories to tell ! Any bassist that grew up in the 60's and early 70's owes a debt to Joe Osborn. If you listened to the radio - you were listening to Joe. He played on so many hits, and was a major influence. RIP Joe, from a fellow Louisiana boy !

I couldn’t find a link either. I live in the same city as Joe, (Shreveport, LA) and just found out the news this morning from other local musicians. Soon as I have a link to share, I’ll post it.

What a bringdown. Joe spent a lot of time with me on the phone many years ago -- I was a perfect stranger to him and now have no idea why I called -- but he was very patient and courteous and we talked for quite some time. He even sent me a complimentary set of his signature bass strings.

We recently had a spirited thread discussion about Joe which his son Dave was gracious enough to join and post on. Highly recommended reading. I'm glad we had a chance to re-examine his life and career and his invaluable (and sometimes overlooked) contributions to pop music. A real inspiration for us all.
