Great player!! One of the most underrated bass players of all time. Had the honor of doing some shows with 38 Special. Larry was always friendly and nice as was all the other guys in the band. But the man could play RIP Sir!!

Always did like 38 special. Kind of hitting the point in life where a of the musicians I grew up with are passing away. RIP.

Sad news for all of us in the south. We might get sick to death of people requesting Skynyrd tunes but truth is most of us around here do hold that band close to our hearts.
Definitely a great and very underrated bass player. Had the pleasure to see him play live several times. He played exactly what was needed in a song and played it very well.
I liked LJ. Nice guy...did some shows with them in Minnesota, and he was very cordial.
Well I can think of a couple who aren't. LOL! But most are, yeah. But all of them were great and very cool. The crew said Don Barnes is Hell on them because he's very demanding, but I thought he was a great guy. I didn't have to work for him... LOL!
Oh, I'm sure Don's got nothing on James. Paying band members crap money only to fine them over little things is pretty lame.
