I met him once. He looked as cheerful then as above. And he had better trousers too. Nice guy, and Hawkwind were a huge influence on me. I wrote synthesiser software precisely because I liked Yamaha's methods but wanted an LFO to go with it that could fly the way Hawkwind make them do it. I remember also going out alone and walking miles in cold rain, and stumbling through heavy bracken and fallen trees in the dark to get to see them play once. It was worth it.
